Bear Mountain Scenic Overlook, Cortlandt NY
Six legs, two antennas, and 1/16 of an inch long; an ant. That's what it feels like to be at the top of an overlook. My entire life in Jersey these experiences came every once in awhile, as places like the ones below are hard to find. The experience of seeing a huge valley makes me feeling so tiny, like an ant. I feel like the whole view could just gobble me up.
There is no hike required to see the view at this overlook which is sometimes exactly what you’re looking for. This overlook lives off of a sharp turn on route 202 in Cortlandt New York. The overlook features an awesome view of the Hudson River and Iona Island. It is a quaint little overlook that gets packed during the summer. This overlook is definitely worth the stop if you are driving through.
Bear Mountain Scenic Overlook does have a parking lot, but only has 14 parking spots.
