Eisenhower Interstate System Park, Basking Ridge NJ
Six legs, two antennas, and 1/16 of an inch long; an ant. That's what it feels like to be at the top of an overlook. My entire life in Jersey these experiences came every once in awhile, as places like the ones below are hard to find. The experience of seeing a huge valley makes me feeling so tiny, like an ant. I feel like the whole view could just gobble me up.
This place has granted many stops for me and my friends. Not only is it a good leg stretch spot on the way to the Ken Lockwood Gorge, but the view is surprising. All it is is a drive up a hill off of Route 78, but it opens up so much at the top. Sadly there is a fence there now that didn't used to be. The view is mostly mountains, but if you look off to the right you can see more into the valley that the highway runs through. This isn't a spectacular overlook, but better than you'd expect.
